Aurora Mosquito & Tick Control

Where Are Mosquitoes & Ticks Hiding on Your Property?

Mosquito Breeding Grounds

Mosquitoes require only a tiny amount of stagnant water to breed hundreds of larvae in about a week. While birdbaths are obvious culprits, we frequently find them multiplying in overlooked areas like corrugated downspout extensions, clogged gutters, plant saucers, wrinkled tarps, and children's toys left in the yard.

Tick Edge Zones

Unlike mosquitoes, ticks don’t fly or jump; they wait for a host to brush past them. In our experience, ticks rarely cross open, sunlit lawns. Instead, they concentrate heavily in “edge zones” where your mowed grass meets the woodline, brush, leaf litter, and dense landscaping beds.

How We Treat Mosquitoes & Ticks

Our experts follow a methodical process to drastically reduce pest populations across your property.

Our comprehensive approach includes:

• Inspecting and mapping the property. We identify high-risk zones, such as dense foliage and hidden standing water.
• Treating standing water. We apply larvicides to stagnant water sources to stop mosquitoes from maturing.
• Applying a perimeter barrier. We treat the borders of your property to intercept incoming pests.
• Treating harborage areas. We apply treatments to the undersides of leaves in trees and shrubs where adult mosquitoes rest during the heat of the day.
• Targeting tick edge zones. We focus on the transitional areas between your lawn and wooded brush where ticks wait for hosts.

Don’t settle for ineffective store-bought sprays or repellent gadgets. By addressing both the adult insects and their breeding grounds, we deliver lasting relief.

When Does Mosquito & Tick Season Start in Illinois?

Most homeowners think of mosquitoes and ticks as summer problems, but tick season runs considerably longer. Blacklegged ticks stay active any time temperatures rise above freezing, which means a mild February or a warm stretch in November can put ticks in your yard.

Mosquito activity follows a tighter window that picks up as temperatures warm in late spring and runs through the first hard frost. That gap matters for timing. A single treatment in July addresses the peak, but leaves the shoulder seasons open, which is when tick encounters catch families off guard.

Our program is built around season-long coverage. If you experience higher than normal activity between visits, we'll return to evaluate and treat if needed.
