Aurora Rodent Control

Sounds

Scurrying, scratching, or squeaking sounds coming from walls, ceilings, or attics can indicate rodents, especially at night.

Sightings

Sightings typically occur in the evening, but mice can also be seen during the day, especially if you disturb a hiding place.

Gnaw Marks

Rodents’ teeth grow constantly, leading mice and rats to gnaw on wood, plastic, cardboard, or electrical cords.

Nests

Depending on the rodent type, they will live in nests or burrows. Check for nesting materials behind appliances and inside crawlspaces, such as torn paper and debris.

Tracks & Footprints

Look for tail marks and footprints in low-traffic areas, such as sheds. In your home, look for rub marks along your baseboards where rodents may run parallel to the wall.

How Do Rodents Enter Basements & Crawlspaces?

Mice and rats can squeeze through openings as small as a dime, making it easy for them to exploit structural vulnerabilities. We frequently trace rodent infestations back to unsealed utility penetrations where pipes and cables enter the basement.

Damaged garage thresholds and cracked foundation vents also provide open doors for rodents seeking shelter from the cold. Identifying these hidden access points is a core part of our integrated pest management (IPM) approach.

Our highly trained technicians conduct thorough inspections to locate vulnerabilities and provide targeted recommendations for sealing them up, so you can block out future invaders.

Are Mice & Rats a Health Risk to My Family?

Mice and rats are associated with a range of communicable diseases, including hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, leptospirosis, salmonella, and rat bite fever. Transmission can occur through bites, urine or droppings, or contaminated food.

Rodents urinate as they travel, so the runways they use along baseboards, countertops, and pantry shelves can accumulate residue well before anyone spots an animal. Droppings and nesting materials carry allergens that affect people with asthma.

Rodents can also introduce fleas and ticks into homes that previously had none. They gnaw constantly to manage tooth growth, which puts wiring, ductwork, and insulation at risk. We address both active populations and entry points to deliver lasting relief.

How Do You Keep Rodents From Coming Back?

Stopping a current rodent infestation is only half the battle. We focus on proactive prevention that removes the specific conditions that attract rodents to your property in the first place. Below are some strategic steps to take:

• Seal entry points. Close up gaps around foundation vents, utility lines, and doors to block access.
• Manage exterior food sources. Clean up fallen seeds under bird feeders and secure outdoor trash cans.
• Clear yard debris. Move woodpiles away from exterior walls and clear away overgrown brush where rodents like to nest.
• Monitor activity. Keep an eye out for fresh droppings or gnaw marks to catch new activity early. Our team is just a call away if you spot a red flag.

Because pest pressures change with the seasons, we offer our no-contract Tri-Annual Plan for comprehensive protection, which includes three yearly visits to maintain your property’s defenses. It’s backed by our service guarantee, meaning we’ll return as often as needed at no extra cost.
